Japan Suiso Energy (JSE) is a Japanese company dedicated to developing and operating an international supply chain for liquefied hydrogen (LH₂), aiming to establish a sustainable and carbon-neutral energy infrastructure. Founded in June 2021 as a joint venture between Kawasaki Heavy Industries (66.6%) and Iwatani Corporation (33.4%), JSE focuses on the research, planning, investment, and management of a global LH₂ supply chain.

JSE's primary project involves the Hydrogen Energy Supply Chain (HESC), which seeks to produce clean hydrogen in Australia, liquefy it, and transport it to Japan. This initiative includes the construction of commercial-scale facilities for hydrogen liquefaction and shipping at the Port of Hastings in Victoria, Australia, with the goal of supplying 30,000 tonnes of clean hydrogen gas per year.

To facilitate marine transportation of LH₂, JSE established a subsidiary, JSE Ocean, in January 2023. This entity collaborates with major Japanese shipping companies to develop large-scale LH₂ carriers, ensuring efficient and safe transport of liquefied hydrogen across international waters.

JSE's efforts are supported by Japan's Green Innovation Fund, reflecting the country's commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Through these initiatives, JSE aims to create a reliable and sustainable hydrogen supply chain, contributing significantly to the global transition towards clean energy.
